Part-Time Diesel/Trailer Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Area Storage & Transfer, Inc. is a family-owned company with over 30 years of experience working with the United States Postal Service.

We are looking for a Part-Time Diesel/Trailer Mechanic – Second shift 5:00 PM to Midnight. If you can produce with little supervision in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in your work and leadership, this is the opportunity for you.

 Duties:

• Perform basic repairs on tractors and trailers.

• Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers to ensure compliance with FMCSA, federal and state regulations.

• Maintains accurate maintenance and repair records for the fleet using our fleet software eMaint.

• Entering DVIR’s into eMaint for repair orders.

• Ensure all equipment has necessary paperwork and licenses to operate legally.

Education and Experience: 

1. High School graduate plus 3 to 5 years experience as a diesel truck mechanic, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Requirements:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

• Considerable knowledge of safety practices and techniques in diesel truck and trailer maintenance and repair.

• Considerable knowledge of diesel engine operation and repair.

• Considerable knowledge of trailer repair.

• Basic computer skills.

• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
